Bush, Harriet Elaine, Saginaw, Michigan

Age 94, passed away Wednesday, October 6, 2010 at the Saginaw Geriatrics Home. Elaine was born April 10, 1916, in Onaway, Michigan, daughter of the late Lloyd and Flossie Cady. She graduated from Flint Northern High School and attended Bay City Junior College. On May 18, 1940, she married James C. Bush, who predeceased her on November 2,1958. She was also predeceased by a son-in-law, R. James Rowley of San Mateo, CA; brothers Loren E. Cady of Bay City and Wesley N. Cady of Midland and sisters-in-law and brothers-in-law, David and Virginia (Bush) Richards of Grosse Pointe and George and Evelyn (Studor) Bush of Saginaw. She is survived by a daughter, Mary E. Rowley of San Mateo, CA; sons, James C. Bush, Jr., John D. Bush (Sharon), and George C. Bush (Mary), all of Saginaw; granddaughter, Brice Bush of Grand Haven, grandsons, Jonathan Bush of Saginaw, William Rowley, (Sara), John Rowley, and James Bush, all of the San Francisco Bay area; sisters-in-law, Maurine Cady (Loren) and Dorothy Cady (Wesley) of Midland; and several nieces and nephews. A trained musician, she taught voice and piano; and was for many years a member of musical groups in the tri-cities and a past president of the Saginaw Choral Society. She also enjoyed reading; cooking fine meals for family events; and watching televised sports, especially Detroit's Lions and Tigers and the Michigan/ Michigan State collegiate teams. She was employed during the Great Depression by Consumers Power Co. in Bay City and, in later years, at The Frame Shop and Your Fireplace Shop in Saginaw. Funeral services will take place at 11:00 a.m. on Tuesday, October 12, 2010, at the W. L. Case & Company Chapel, 409 Adams St., where her family will receive friends from 4:00 - 7:00 p.m. on Monday. Entombment will be in Oakwood Mausoleum.
