Beloved wife, mother, grandmother and sister passed away Sunday, October 24, 2010 at her home. Age 69 years. The daughter of the late Cecilio and Leocadia (Ramon) Martinez, Mary was born November 19, 1940 in Maple Rapids, Michigan. She attended school in Saginaw after moving here when she was one year old. Mary graduated from Saginaw High School in 1958. She was employed at Berkaway Shoe Repair in Saginaw, Joseph & Feis Clothing, Nationwide Insurance and Union Carbide in Cleveland, Ohio and in Los Angeles, California before moving back to Saginaw where she worked as an aid at elementary schools in the Buena Vista School District. Mary married Keith David Boggs March 5, 1960 and recently celebrated their 50th wedding anniversary. She was a member of Saginaw Valley Community Church and was a strong Christian all of her life. Mary’s outstanding characteristic was her humor, wit and ability to have one last word. Her last spoken wishes were that all her family and friends will celebrate with her at the “Marriage Supper of the Lamb.” Surviving besides her husband Keith are one son, Joseph D. and Domini Boggs, Saginaw; two granddaughters, Jessica Lynne and Raiden Maria Boggs; eight siblings, Betty Perry, Upland, California; Ruben (Tina) Martinez and Stephen (Ruth) Martinez, all of Greeley, Colorado; Rebecca (Jim) Benedict, Banning, California; George (Patricia) Martinez, Morro Bay, California; David (Margarit) Martinez, Oakland, California; Sally (Edward) Bekemeier, Reese, Michigan; Cecilo Gary Martinez, North Port, Florida; many nieces, nephews, cousins and friends. Mary was preceded in death by her oldest sister, Esther Ruiz. Funeral service will take place at 11:00 a.m. Wednesday, October 27, 2010 at Saginaw Valley Community Church, 3660 Hermansau. Rev. Richard Sayad will officiate with interment in Roselawn Memorial Gardens. Friends may call at The Snow Funeral Home, 3775 N. Center Road, (between Shattuck and McCarty), where the family will be present on Tuesday from 5:00 p.m. to 7:00 p.m. and at Saginaw Valley Community Church on Wednesday from 10:00 a.m. until time of service.
