Loving mother, grandmother and great grandmother, sister and friend went to be with her Savior, Monday, July 26, 2010. Age 84 years, 11 months and 20 days. Gloria Adeline Marie Bauer was born August 6, 1925, the daughter of the late Charles and Louise (Zuchowski) Dauer. She married Clifford Bauer, May 25, 1946, following his return from WWII. He predeceased her. Gloria worked at Martindale Appliance for a number of years. She was a Medical Transcriptionist at St. Lukes Hospital until her retirement. After her retirement she worked part-time for Dr. Egleston’s office for 5 years. She was a member of St. John’s Evangelical Lutheran Church, Zilwaukee and an active member of the Ladies Aid for all her married life. Surviving are four children and their spouses, Terry (Sonja) Bauer; Rod (Karen) Bauer; Becky Martin; Jeff (Kathy) Bauer; nine grandchildren, ten great grandchildren; a sister, Bernice Wade; a brother-in-law, Wayne Bauer; several nieces and nephews. Gloria was predeceased by her husband, Clifford, a brother-in-law, Eugene Wade, a granddaughter, Ashley Heath and a son-in-law, Rick Martin. The funeral service will take place at 11:00 a.m. Thursday, July 29, 2010, at St. John’s Ev. Lutheran Church, 318 S. Franklin St., Zilwaukee, MI. Pastor Marcus P. Manthey will officiate with burial in Eastlawn Memorial Gardens. Visitation will be held at the W. L. Case and Co. Funeral Chapel, 4480 Mackinaw Road, from 4:00-7:00 p.m. Wednesday and at the Church on Thursday from 10:00 a.m. until the time of the funeral service. Those planning an expression of sympathy may wish to consider St. Johns Ev. Lutheran Church in Zilwaukee. Mrs. Bauer’s family is very appreciative of the care mom received at Hoyt Rehab and Nursing Center and Covenant Hospital.
