Banda, Margarito, “Mark” Shirley, Saginaw, Michigan

Passed away Sunday, February 21, 2010 at Select Specialty Hospital surrounded by his family. He was 62 years old. Margarito Banda was born July 19, 1947 to the late Juan and Andrea Banda. He married Linda S. Orozco on June 5, 1971 in Saginaw, MI. She survives him. Mark served his country with the US Army during the Vietnam War. Mark was then employed by General Motors Power Train for over 30 years. He was a sports enthusiast. Upon his retirement he enjoyed going to the movies, playing bingo, and going to various casinos. Mark was a member of St. Joseph Catholic Church.  Left to cherish his memory are his loving wife, Linda; his beloved daughter, Michelle Banda of Ann Arbor; sister, Mary Banda of Saginaw; brother, Lupe (Eva) Banda of Owosso; and his nieces and nephews. Mark was preceded in death by a brother, Juan Banda.  Funeral liturgy for Mark will be held at 11:00 a.m. on Thursday, February 25, 2010 at St. Joseph Catholic Church, 910 N. 6th St.  Rev. Fr. Daniel Anholzer, OFMCap will officiate. Burial will take place at 12:00 noon on Friday, February 26, 2010 at Great Lakes National Cemetery. Friends may call at the church on Thursday from 9:00 a.m. until the time of Mass.  Those planning an expression of sympathy may wish to consider memorials to St. Joseph Catholic Church or the American Juvenile Diabetes Association.
