Our beloved mother, grandmother, and sister went home to be with the Lord on Thursday, August 5, 2010, at the age of 93 years. Annis was born August 21, 1916, in Saginaw to the late Arthur and Dorothea (Trombley) Fisher. She married Edwin W. Arft on June 6, 1937, he predeceased her on August 8, 2000. Along with her husband she owned Arfts’s Farm Home Meat Market. She then went on to work for Bay City Antique Warehouse. She was a member of the Daughters of the American Revolution and the Mayflower Society. She belonged to First Presbyterian Church and the Mid Forest Lodge for 50 years. She is survived by her daughters, Judith (Russell) Brown, Susan (Clark) Cox, and Cheryl (John) Foltz; nine grandchildren and seventeen great-grandchildren; siblings, Henry (Delores) Fisher, Donna DeFore, and Nancy (Eugene) Krawczak; and many nieces and nephews. She was predeceased by a sister Ruth Moser. The family would like to thank the staff of Alterra and Southern Care Hospice for the exceptional care they provided to Annis. Funeral services will take place at 11:00 a.m. Tuesday, August 10, 2010, at W.L. Case & Company 4480 Mackinaw Road. Dr. Robert L. Emrich will officiate with entombment to follow in Chapel Hill Mausoleum. Friends may call at the funeral home on Monday from 2:00 to 4:00 and 6:00 to 8:00 p.m. and again on Tuesday from 10:00 a.m. until the time of service. Memorial contributions may be made to First Presbyterian Church, American Heart Association, or to a charity of the donor’s choice.
