Apsey, Jean Luree, Saginaw, Michigan

Passed away on Wednesday, February 10, 2010 at Cartwright Hospice Residence. Age 84 years. Jean L. Radil was born on August 28, 1925 to the late John Samuel and Martha Josephine (Tiegland) Radil. She married Charles W. Apsey on December 28, 1950 in Shevlin, Minnesota. He preceded her in death on June 25, 1994. Jean completed her Bachelors Degree at the University of Minnesota in education and music. She was a teacher in Zilwaukee and the Saginaw Public Schools. Jean was an active member of Our Saviour Lutheran Church, she also sang in the choir. She enjoyed line dancing, was a member of the Michigan Retired School Personnel and volunteered for the Saginaw Township Election Committee. After her retirement Jean enjoyed traveling and spending time with her grandchildren, and their many band activities. Jean also enjoyed spending weekends at the cottage.  Surviving are a son and a daughter: Timothy (Penny) Apsey of Chesaning, MI and Kimberly (Don Lidbeck) Apsey of Iron Mountain, MI; two grandchildren: Katie    Elizabeth Apsey of Brooklyn, NY and Patrick John Apsey of Saginaw, MI. Other survivors include her sister-in-law, LaVern Apsey; special nieces and nephews: Cheri (Dennis) Cleary and Larry (Linda) Somers; and special cousins Virginia Hegre, Donald Nolting and Vernon Nolting.  Jean was preceded in death by many brothers and sisters-in-law.  Jean’s Funeral Service will take place at 11:00 a.m. on Monday, February 15, 2010 at Our Saviour Lutheran Church, 2525 Hemmeter Road. Pastor Jeff Bonn will officiate. Entombment will follow in Roselawn Mausoleum.  Friends may call at the Deisler Funeral Home, 2233 Hemmeter Road (off State) on Sunday, February 14, 2010 from 3:00 to 5:00 p.m. and at the church on Monday from 9:00 a.m. until the time of the service.
